Overview
On 27 July 2026 the Digital Omnibus on AI entered into force and reordered the AI Act's timeline. It postpones the high-risk obligations of Annex III by sixteen months, to December 2027. It does not touch AI literacy under Article 4, mandatory since February 2025, nor transparency under Article 50, in force since August 2026. The real risk is confusing what was postponed with what still applies. This briefing turns the timeline into five questions a committee can ask itself on Monday morning, each with the name of who answers it and the paper trail behind it.
